Innovation, science, and technology are the cornerstones of a knowledge economy. With Indian industry setting the benchmark for global technology, India’s ambition to become a USD 5-trillion economy in the next years is closely linked to its potential to lead the innovation, design, and intellectual property (IP) fields.

An ecosystem for industrial innovation and technology adoption has been fostered over the last 20 years by the ITA National Committee on Technology, Innovation & Research.

ITA promises to help navigate a very unstable, hyper-globalized economic environment and offer a path for accelerating the adoption of technology.

Opening new horizons requires a focus on developing a culture of cooperation between academics and industry in research, innovation, and technology

applications.

With an emphasis on innovation and research, the ITA National Committee has been working to establish technology, innovation, and R&D as a movement throughout the country and the world in order to establish India as a leader in technology.

The Indian technology movement aims to accomplish the following five national objectives:

Increase national R&D spending, with a 2.5% interim target by 2030.
R&D contributions from the industry should be increased from 37% to 60% by 2030.

Determine the most important national priority technologies and become proficient in them, such as robotics, advanced materials, additive manufacturing, and genomics.

promoting cooperation through the National Research Quad between industry, academia, research labs, and startups.

Increase the percentage of women in STEM to 50% by 2047, with a 35% interim goal by 2030.
