Ascon (Cryptography) – Ascon is a family of lightweight cryptographic algorithms designed for efficiency and security in resource-constrained environments such as IoT devices, embedded systems, and low-power sensors. Developed in 2014 by researchers from Graz University of Technology and other institutions, Ascon was selected by NIST in 2023 as a standard for lightweight cryptography.
